The Cumberland Good Samaritans Thrift Store generates the revenues needed to provide program operations and to cover administrative costs. It provides great shopping for bargain hunters, quality affordable merchandise for those on a budget, and the proceeds from the Thrift Store fund the operation of our direct assistance and social service programs. Through shopping, volunteering, and donating your gently-used items to the Thrift Store you are working to help build a better life for individuals and families in our community. Yet another great reason to think Good Samaritans first!

You Can Donate Two Ways

Drop Donations at the Thrift Store

There is a convenient drop off area at the far right end of the store building available during operating hours to receive your donations. It is an easily accessible dock area with staff available to help you unload your donations. We can accept anything clean, useable and in working condition. While dropping off you may ask for a tax receipt for your donations.

We also have a satellite drop off site in Fairfield Glade at Westminster Presbyterian Church on Friday’s from 11-1. Volunteers are there during this time to receive your donations. It is a handy way for those living in that area to drop off boxes, bags and smaller items that can fit in a car while saving the time it would take to come to the store in town.

When you drop off your donations, you become a partner helping to make a difference in our community!

Become a Volunteer

Join in and help make a difference in the community!

Volunteers are the backbone of Cumberland Good Samaritans. Without them, the organization would not be able to extend a hand up to countless individuals in the community. Whether it be helping to stock the food pantry, sorting and pricing donated items for the thrift store, or sorting and wrapping presents for needy children during the holidays, a dedicated team of volunteers makes it happen.

If you would like to help make a difference in the lives of others and have time to volunteer, Good Samaritans needs you. Please contact our office for more information on how you can become a part of the Good Sam’s family as volunteer.

God has no hands but ours.
